INPEX, Darwin. CVL 2 & 3

Being a big site with lots of units of work going on at the same time, it was chaotic—to say the least—to keep track of all of that. It’s very easy for people to get lost on major projects like this. Chief’s superintendent was an integral part of the team that managed and allocated all the resources to deliver that part of the project. CPB

Project 1: CVL 2

Chief Group supplied resources (plant and key personnel) and management for the bulk earthworks package.

Project 2: CVL 3

For CPB

Chief initially supplied wet hire machinery and resources to deliver the sub-structures, installing underground electrical works, piping, sewerage and stormwater drainage and pavement. Later CPB's, the principal subcontractor to JKC, utilised Chief Group’s project manager to help manage overall resources of the site on the $600m earthworks project.

Non-negotiable deadlines

Milestones on this project were based on module deliveries from China. Delays would mean significant costs and program delays. Chief assisted with the planning and organisation for module delivery, delivering on time throughout under significant financial pressure.

Safety

Chief comfortably met INPEX’s stringent safety and quality requirements in this package. We safely prepared the site for the delivery of hundreds of modules ranging in size from five tonnes to 380 tonnes. All in the tropical season around lightning and rain.

Top-grade machinery

INPEX and its tier one contractors have stringent conditions for all machinery operating on site. Chief Group supplied near brand new equipment for this project with a dedicated team maintaining all gear.

High-risk works

Chief Group is experienced in high-risk activity and working around power, water, high voltage and live services. We safely worked along all services while maintaining program and production requirements.
